Bhubaneswar :22/03/2014: OBB:  Election in Odisha  defines Dry Day:The Chief Election Commissioner, Odisha ordered to both the Electoral officer and the CEOs of the State to put restriction on the use of Liquor  particularly on  poling day.The direction brings the liquor vendors to a fold of surveillance by the Secretary of Excise Odisha and the instruction thus covers all kind liquor parlors : Liquor  shop,hotels,restaurant and club or all places within 48 hours preceding the polls and preceding the time of counting .The above statements had been sent to the Electoral Officer and the CEOs of the state. So long the prohibition is operative the day be categorized as  ‘Dry Day’.To see the instruction being properly implemented ,CC cameras in the polling booths shall be fitted and all out efforts shall be resorted to ensure free and fair election.
