Heavy rains continue to pound Mumbai

Mumbai : 25.07.2013: O.B: Heavy rain continued to lash the western metropolis today throwing the traffic movements out of gear.
BMC has advised people against venturing out unless essential since  the city is threatened with  heavy rain -fall for the next 48 hours . The tide level is  going up  to be 4.95-metre high at 1:27pm.

Due to the current spell of downpour, schools in the city have been asked not to function by the municipal bodies.

Trains on Western, Central and Harbour lines were running late. Flights are also delayed. Traffic is slow in many parts of the city with huge traffic jams reported on the Eastern and Western Express Highways.

Till 8 am (since yesterday), Colaba recorded a rainfall of 158.6 mm and Santacruz 168 mm.
