India’s top space agency prepares to launch “Regional satellite”

Indias top space agency prepares to launch Regional satellite

Chennai:  The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has taken a bold step in preparing a regional navigation Satellite system which at par with GPS system of the US. Being developed by India IRNSS is designed to provide accurate position information service to users in the country as well as the region extending up to 1,500 km from its boundary, which is its primary service area.

The 1,432 kg weighing satellite is being sent on board an XL version of ISRO’s workhorse PSLV, as it was done during the IRNSS 1A launch.
